Tuesday started out as not a good day for me! After I got lost wandering around Dublin for the best part of an hour, spilling coffee on my new shoes and tripping over myself on O Connell bridge, I was pretty sure there was very little that would cheer me up. However (thank god) I was wrong! A quick glance around the new collection of clothing due to hit Primark in the next few weeks put me back right as rain. Something about fashion cheers me up instantly! I think it's the smell of new fabric and the endless possibilities of accessories!

With my festival fashion plans not going so well I was delighted to note how many amazing pieces Primark boasted for the upcoming season. Patterned wellies (a festival essential), shoulder bags, even ponchos that fold into neat little bags ready for emergancy use. All as usual, for great prices.

I was surprised to hear how varied the inspiration behind some of the looks can be. There was a strong beachy vibe with fringing, khaki, white light summery pieces and tiny colored hot pants. Unsurprising given that Primark visited Miami, Ibiza, LA and the festival Cochella. It's easy to forget that even designing high street is big business and buyers have to take inspiration from all over the global to put together the collections for the big stores. I was surprised at the lengths which Primark had gone to to put together such an amazing display.

So what did I see? Well I was immediatly drawn to this ring. I love turquoise, notably so in my accessories. I love the idea of teaming this ring with my festival outfit. It was part of a collection of accessories in the same shade. I don't know what it is about this particular blue which makes me think of desert sands, dreamcatchers and fringing. Luckily there were quite a few fringed pieces in the collection too.

As you can see, there was a lot to take in!

Lemon colored shorts. These also come in pink, blue and lavender as well. Perfect for putting together with wellies, boots and flats for summer in the city, country or festival. I'm really drawn to lemon yellow at the moment. Shorts are perfect for me given that I am blonde and the lemon color near my face would drain me. However I can wear them on the bottom half! Or in accessories. Lemon featured heavily in the cruise collection of Chanel. (see below post)

THE dress. The amount of emails, commentary and facebook comments and questions I got about this dress. Something to do with the fact that it is not only bang on trend for this season, the fruit print trend, as seen at Stella MacCartney but it is also only €6. Which makes it perfect for the (hopefully) long hot summer ahead of us. I don't know why, but I see this dress with a thick black belt, black blazer and hat. Watch this space!

The next THE dress! Going with a definate Jil Sander theme, this dress hasn't hit stores yet and is due to do so in July. Already I can see this being a sell out piece. It's perfect. For those of you who are afraid of stripes, you needn't worry. This dress is loose and floaty meaning that you don't have to worry about lumps and bumps. The dress does all the work!
I would team this with an acid colored bra and my fantastic tan fringed waistcoat. It's not the only Jil Sander inspired trend instore, Primark have also released a lot of acid colored pieces such as cobalt blue tie tops, acid pink trousers and a neon yellow silky t-shirt. All perfect for working the color trend for this season along with the color blocking trend. Go daring and don't put any black or neutrals with it. I dare you! mind you, I wouldn't be able for it myself!
We did get a bit of a tip off! The limited edition range by Primark which has some of the catwalks best trends reworked will hit stores in Mid August with their new A/W limited edition. A collection which will include fur, star prints, a 60's and 70's theme and lots of rustic reds, oranges and a cool cobalt blue. They also have fantastic pieces in the limited edition collections. So don't say you haven't been warned!
