OECD's economic think tank says the comparisons based on test scores in 76 countries shows a relationship between economic growth and education.
OECD's Education Director, Andreas Schleider says this is the first time there is a global scale of quality education. He says, 'the idea is to give rich and poor countries access to compare themselves against the world's education leaders to discover their relative strength and weaknesses and to see whatbthe longterm economic gains from improved quality in schoolingcould be for them.
UK ranked 20th while USA ranked 28th
