BlogJune Day Thirty

Through The Garden Gate : June 2021

The last day of the month and the end of BlogJune. Phew do I hear you say! Thank you to all my faithful followers and especially to all those lovely people who commented and kept me company each day. It certainly means a lot to me.

Well the last day of the month can mean only one thing. A quick wander round the garden for Sarah's Through The Garden Gate. So much has come and gone this month; heavy rain certainly not helping the roses to last. We missed some of the beauties while we were away, although we returned to an abundance of poppies and many overgrown items. Severe pruning has helped and some of the borders are looking a little better.

I'm loving the apple tree border with its alstroemerias, aeoniums and red sage. The colour combination seems to work well.

Fuchsias are coming into their stride after a good cut back in the winter and flowers are appearing on the hydrangea plants.

The first hollyhock flowers have arrived although the leaves are covered in rust. Blue geraniums are looking stunning against the Alchemilla Mollis.

Seed heads on the alliums and clematis look good although the Sally clematis is still going strong despite the weather. Spring onions and courgettes are doing well and the tomatoes have just started to flower. Much later than last year.

So are there any stars in your June garden? I'll leave you with a few more garden shots and hopefully will be back quite soon.
