Formula Fever & Thunderstreak

The Hot Wheels Formula Fever was released in 1983 with either Real Riders or Blackwalls wheels.

This model was part of the 1983 Real Riders series. There is another Real Riders version with white hubs instead of grey ones. The casting design is interesting; the driver is part of the plastic body of the car but his helmet is part of the metal body section.

In 1985, the casting was renamed Thunderstreak. This maroon version is from the 1987 Real Riders series.

This one is from the 1989 Park'n Plates series. The livery is similar to the 1986 IndyCar driven by Michael Andretti.

A few promotion models will be released over the years like this 1989 Ziploc,

... or this 1991 Claforan promotion.

In 1992, the Thunderstreak casting was revamped with a longer and higher rear wing now part of the body instead of the base. This model has the livery of the 1986 IndyCar driven by Rick Mears.

In the same year, Hot Wheels introduced the Pro Circuit series, a series representing Nascar and IndyCar racing models.

I believe I am only missing one car in that series, a hard to find Fuji promotion.

Two other promotion models from 1994 and 1995, this Hormel,

... and these two Aquafresh models. Note the the rear wing variation.

To finish this review, here is a model that was issued in 1994 using the old casting.
