Little Details About Above Bands:
Better Coverage: 2300 MHz > 1800 MHz > 850 MHz
Better Speed: 850Mhz > 1800 MHz > 2300 MHz
Nowadays Band 40 is highly congested because usually mobile connect to this band. In peak time speed in this band drop to 0.5 Mbps - 0.3 Mbps.
Band 5 gives me better speed compared to band 40 and 3 because most of the time it's empty. you should try each band and check which band gives you better speed and coverage.
Use NetVelocity Enterprise app to check which band you're connected it's available on Play Store and Jio App Store.
Methods For Rooted Devices:
“Warning: Use the following methods on your own risk"
1.For Qualcomm Chipset
1. Download Shortcut Master (Lite) App From Play Store.
2. Open App Go to Menu > then select ‘Secret Code Explore".
3. Find Code: "2263" and access it to change LTE band
4. For me, I just have to click on that band which I wise to disable. It will be different for other devices.
Tip: if you're not able to find that code use ‘Search' function in-app and search for "Service Menu or Engineering mode" and find which one can let you change the LTE band.
2. Enable Service Mode Manually
1. Download Root Explorer and open it.
2.Navigate to "/efs/carrier/HiddenMenu"
3. Use a text editor and change the value to ON.
4. Reboot your device.
5.Dial *#2263# and change your LTE Band.
Note: Codes may be different for others device.
Methods For Non-Rooted Phones
1.MediaTek Chipset
1. Download MTK Engineering Mode and run it.
2. Select "MTK Settings" and Select "Band Mode".
3. Select Sim slot which you want the device to serve 4G band.
4. Now scroll down to ‘LTE mode' and tick that band you want to lock phone into.
5. Save settings & reboot mobile to activate changes..
2.Code: *#2263#
1. Dial above code.2. Select ‘Band selection' >Then ‘LTE'.
3. Then activate single LTE band you need.
3. Code:*#0011#
1. Dial above code.
2. Select Menu & click ‘Back' link.
3. Again select Menu > then ‘Key input' then enter: Q & OK.
4. Again enter: 0000 & OK.
5. Wait few seconds for Service Menu pop up.
6. Select ‘UE settings and Info' > Setting > Protocol > NAS >Network control > Band Selection > LTE Bands (*) > Only select band you need.
